Anand is Director of the UK in a Changing Europe and Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King’s College London. UK in a Changing Europe (UKICE) is an academic think tank providing impartial, research-based analysis of the UK’s relationship with the EU and the many issues that affect and are affected by it.

Anand’s areas of interest include the policies and institutions of the European Union, European security, and British politics. He has written widely on many aspects of EU politics and policy and on UK-EU relations, and he is a frequent contributor to the media on matters relating to British relations with the EU.

Prior to joining King's, Anand was a Professor of West European Politics and founding Director of the European Research Institute at the University of Birmingham. He has also held positions at the University of Oxford, New York University, Columbia University and the Universite Libre de Bruxelles.

Anand is a trustee of Full Fact, a member of the Strategic Council of the European Policy Centre, a Council member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and an associate fellow of Chatham House. He was formerly a special adviser to the House of Lords EU committee.
