Henrik Hågemark is a PhD candidate at the Division of Science, Technology and Society at Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden), where he explores the ethical and political dimensions of architectural aesthetics. His research focuses on how questions of style, taste, and beauty are addressed—or neglected—in urban policy and planning. By combining insights from political philosophy, aesthetics, and the history of architecture, his work aims to support more democratic and reflective approaches to shaping the built environment. More broadly, Henrik is interested in the relationship between societal values and public decision-making: how norms, ideals, and visions shape, and are shaped by, policy.

At the Centre, Henrik is involved in various activities, from research to organising workshops and contributing to the Centre’s wider engagement with policy communities.
