Karri is the Head of Academic Engagement at the Government Office for Science. Her team provides practical resources, guidance and advice to equip civil servants across HMG to engage more effectively with academics. The team is able to advise on a wide range of issues related to academic engagement and also supports departments with their Areas of Research Interest (ARIs). The team maintains strong relationships with external partners to improve the academic engagement ecosystem and to make researchers aware of ways to work with the UK government. She previously worked in a knowledge mobiliser role in a university, facilitating conversations between Senior Civil Servants and academics.

Previously, she managed the Policy Leaders Fellowship programme at CSaP. She was responsible for termly meetings of the Policy Leaders Fellows, matching Fellows to relevant academics and developing the Fellowship’s interactions with other organisations. Prior to joining CSaP, Karri as Centre Coordinator at the Centre for Geopolitics, a research centre at the University of Cambridge. Karri has experience in the charity sector, fundraising, government relations and association management. Her first degree is in Political Science and she has an International MBA.
