Loic Menzies is an education and policy specialist and has spent over ten years at the heart of education policy, working closely with ministerial advisors and civil servants to provide evidence-informed advice. His research focuses on the education policy-making process, educational marginalisation, the teaching workforce, and school accountability and assessment. He has a particular interest in educational equity.
Loic is a Senior Research Associate in Jesus College Cambridge’s Intellectual Forum, and an Associate Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research. He is co-founder and Chief Research Officer of the Centre for Education Systems, a Nuffield-funded research institute conducting comparative reviews of policy systems across fourteen countries. His first book, “Young People on the Margins: Priorities for action in education and youth” is published by Routledge and his second book, “How Policy Happens” will be published in summer 2026. He began his career as a youth worker, teacher, and teacher educator. He was previously Chief Executive of the 'think and action-tank' the Centre for Education and Youth.
