Michael Kuczynski was a Fellow at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
His research interests were in the areas of money economies, competition processes and price formation in financial activity in an international context. He worked in particular on different interpretations of banking (including Islamic finance), the determinants of bank profits and effects of bank regulation. In addition, his interests also covered comparative evolution of public finance, analysis of monetary policy, the risk- and term- structure movement of market interest rates, and the movement of exchange rates.
He also had practical interests in fund management, primary commodity price formation and trade, financial market micro-structure and comparative long-term economic-growth and employment performance, especially Western Hemisphere versus East Asia.
