Dr Michelle Rigozzi has served as a health adviser to three Prime Ministers since 2020 as part of a small cadre of civil servants responsible for delivering NHS policy. As a member of the No.10 Delivery Unit, she advised on cancer, primary care, prevention, and elective recovery. More recently, she has led work to define NHS priorities for AI in healthcare and has worked closely with the MHRA on the regulation of AI as a medical device.

Before joining the centre of government, Michelle spent five years in the NHS leading strategy and quality improvement programmes across acute, mental health, community and primary care – improving cancer pathways at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, overseeing over 50 projects at East London NHS Foundation Trust, and co-authoring the business case for the UK’s first £2bn NHS provider merger at Guy’s and St Thomas’.

She previously worked as a Senior Research Scientist at a top 100 medical device company. Michelle holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge, where she modelled how cells respond to mechanical stimuli, and degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Sydney.
