Dr Nathaniel Read is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University Cambridge and Course Director for the one-year postgraduate masters programme, the Nuclear Energy MPhil. His principal research interests are in nuclear safety (safety analysis methods, regulation and licensing) and in reactor design (conventional and advanced systems, including novel applications such as civil maritime and space power). He is particularly interested in how large scale deployment of nuclear energy can be achieved and how technological change and regulatory systems influence this. He teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels on nuclear safety and advanced fission systems and supervises PhD research in both areas.
