Oli Tao is policy lead for AI and IP policy at the Department for Science Innovation and Technology. He has a particular interest in the economics of technological change, evidence-based policy making, and the societal impacts of AI.
As a civil servant he previously worked on the set up of the National Data Library and led a review of diversity in the tech sector. Prior to joining the civil service, he worked at a venture builder supporting UK digital start-ups and scaleups to use and embed AI.
