Policy Intern, Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP)
Aditi is a final-year PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge, working on Net Zero. Her research focuses on how carbon dioxide can be safely stored in the UK North Sea using Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), applying advanced imaging techniques in collaboration with Shell.
Working under the supervision of Dame Lynn Gladden, Aditi actively engages with policy through organisations such as the UK Carbon Capture and Storage Research Centre, the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain, and the Global CCS Institute. She has engaged with policy makers at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, as well as regulators including the North Sea Transition Authority and the Environment Agency. This has led her to develop a more holistic understanding of CCS across technical, governance, policy, legislative, regulatory, and economic dimensions.
Aditi has presented her work to the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, contributing to discussions on the UK’s carbon storage roadmap. Previously, she completed a Master’s in Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Oxford as a Commonwealth Scholar and now mentors scholars through the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office network.
She is particularly interested in how scientific evidence can inform policy decisions and is passionate about translating complex climate science for policy audiences.
