Anna Workman is Deputy Director for Resilience Policy at MHCLG.

Previously, she was Deputy Director of the Covid-19 Inquiry Unit at FCDO and, before that, Head of Carbon Leakage at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Her career in government has focused on responding to complex global policy challenges. She led FCDO’s risk management (2019-21); developed and oversaw delivery of DFID’s global education policy (2016-18) and delivered strategic projects at HM Treasury (2010-15).

Throughout her career she has advocated for evidence-based policymaking which draws on cross-disciplinary perspectives. She has an MA in international relations (University of Chicago) and a PhD in international development (LSE).
